Preconditions and origins of modern art. Salon and avant-garde tendencies. Impresionsm - apogee and fall of realism. Symbolism. Traditional historism and early modern architecture. Art nouveau phenomenon. European expressionsm. Dawn of abstraction. The explosion of cubism. Orfism. Futurism. Czech cuboexpresionism and cubism. Early 20th century Czech sculpture

The objective is to get to know students with the development of art 20. century with an emphasis on the Czech painting, sculpture and architecture. Particular trends will be compared within the larger context of European art and cultural and political context.
Students will learn how to get in art 20. century, which are becoming the subject of restoration. |
