Course content
"Regressive" tendencies - anti avant-garde Neo-realist tendencies in painting and sculpture after WWI École de Paris. Art deco. Russian avant-garde. Constructivism. Bauhaus. Dada. Surrealism. Poetism. Artificialism. Czech surrealism. The criminal ornament and architecture: Purism, Functionalism. Totalitarianism and art. Entartete kunst. Socialist realism. Abstract expresionsm. Lyric abstraction. Action painting. Informel. Art Brut. New Figuration. Pop-art.

Learning outcomes
The objective is to get to know students with the development of art 20. century with an emphasis on the Czech painting, sculpture and architecture. Particular trends will be compared within the larger context of European art and cultural and political context.
Students will learn how to get in art 20. century, which are becoming the subject of restoration.
