Course content
Realism, barbizon school. Impressionism, pointillism. Historism in architecture, Gothic revival, Neo-Roman architecture, Neo-Renaissance, Neo-Baroque. St Virus's Cathedral completion. National Theatre generation in Prague. Alternative streams of European art culture, pre-rafaelism, symbolism, beuron art school, decadence. Symbolism and secession art at the end of 19th and beginning of 20th century.

Learning outcomes
Subject objectives consist in covering essential features and landmarks in the history of creative art, i.e. architecture, painting, sculpture, handicraft, graphics, and typographical art starting from classicism up to Art Nouveau and cubism at the beginning of 20th century within European context with special focus on Bohemia countries development.
Students are well versed in history and fields of 19th century creative art culture required for restorer demands.
