Course content
Hagiography. Iconography, legend-science an history. Presentation of saints, attributes, symbols. General and individual attributes. Aureola, mandorla, types of crowns used, king insignia, mitre, tiara. Crest types. Ways to holiness, saints connotation. Canonization, beatification. Categories of saints

Learning outcomes
Subject objectives consist in sound orientation within antique and Christian creative art branch. This knowledge is absolutely necessary for restorers as a mistake in iconographic specification of a work may result in misinterpretation of work treated.
Students are well versed in featuring topics resulting from antique mythology and Christian iconography, i.e. they are capable of specifying work topics they treat.
