Course content
The course is an introduction into the new growing issues of restoration of modern and contemporary art of the 20. and 21. century, introducing changes and different understanding of an art practice, influences and changes on our understanding of the problems of restoration of contemporary art. To introduce the artistic movements and styles of the time, focusing on the 60ties, when major art developments occurred in the western world. Experiments with industrial paints and introduction of new paints (Siqueiros, Pollock, synthetic paints, acrylics, Rothko, Hockney, Warhol). Performativity and intangibility - new categories in relation to restoration of contemporary art. The relationship between the artist and the producer of colors: American minimalism, Morris Louis, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein). Duchamp and ready-made. Understanding of the intentionality of the author as a determining factor for correct restoration of modern and contemporary works of art. The extension of the borders of the concept of art: conceptual art intended for restoration? Installation and performance art (re-enactment, reconstruction). The decision-making model for conservation and estoration of modern and contemporary art.
