Course content
Selected chapters on history, philosophy and aesthetics: Pre-Socrates period of Greek philosophy Socrates and Platon, the dialogue principle, the cave parable. Aristotle - logic, metaphysics, anthropology, politics, ethics Aesthetics of classical Greece, calocagatia, aesthetic views of Platon and Aristotle. General characteristics of Christianity, the transition from antiquity to the Middle Ages, the period of early Patristics, differences between the ancient and Christian spiritual approach. Internal streams Christian philosophy - Boethius, the Manichejs, Gnosticists; Augustin Aurelius and teachings of further religious fathers, strengthening of the unity of the Church. Medieval aesthetics, early, high and late Scholasticism - Thomas Aquinus and Roger Bacon Renaissance philosophy - spiritual turnover from the Middle Ages to Modern Age, from the God to a man, from theology to natural and social sciences, Reformation New legal and political thinking - Nicolo Machiavelli, Hugo Grotius, Thomas Hobbes and Thomas Morus. Systems of the transitional period - Nicholas Kusansky, Giordano Bruno and Francis Bacon. Spiritual background of the Baroque, René Descartes, Baruch Spinoza, G.W. Leibnitz Essential aesthetic streams in 17 and 18 century (Baroque aesthetics) English empiricism - John Locke, George Berkeley, David Hume. Aesthetics origin as an independent scientific discipline effected by the Enlightenment in England and Germany French representatives of the Enlightenment movement and Encyclopaeditians -Voltaire, J. J. Rousseau. Immanuel Kant - life, personality, work, philosophical significance. Philosophy of the first half of 19 century - J.G. Fichte, F. W. Schelling. G. W. F. Hegel, K. Marx. Fundamental streams in 19 century aesthetics (romanticism, formalism). Outline of the main streams in aesthetics development in the first half of 20 century (structuralism, the impact of biological theories and psychoanalysis)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the European philosophy and based on aesthetic utterly useless, trends in the last two and a half thousand years had a significant impact on the creation of the artistic works and construction sites and provide knowledge of concepts from the philosophy and aesthetics, as well as brief history these scopes is an essential element of knowledge future conservation.
Students will learn how to get in and development of the European thinking and aesthetic views, which enable them to better understand the spiritual background restored works.
