The main goal of discipline is to familiarise students with the basic ideas of theory of probability necessary for explication of statistical methods and to present fundamental statistical methods used for data processing in technical and economical practice.
Knowledge of basics concepts of probability theory, ability to use essentials methods of mathematical statistics, ability to use statistical function of calcilator and MS Excel.
Prerequisites
highschool mathematics, Mathematics I

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Conditions for credit are: 1 examination paper - student is successful if he/she obtains 50% of possible points, 1 seminary work. Form, contents and length of the exam are determined in accordance with Study and Examining Rules of University of Pardubice. The exam consists of two parts, a written test and a theoretical exam. Student passes successfully the written test as well as the theoretical part of exam if he/she obtains at minimum 50% of possible points in each part.
