Course content
Linear algebra and analytic geometry (vectors, matrices, determinants, linear forms in the pro-store). Functions of two or more variables (definitional domain, graph, limit, continuity). Differential calculus of functions of two or more variables (partial derivatives, differentials, Taylor's theorem, tangent plane to the graph of a function, local and bounded extremes of functions). Differential equations (separation of variables, constant variation method, exact differential equations, higher order differential equations). Integral calculus of functions of two or more variables (indefinite and definite integral, integration methods, substitution in the plural integral, application of double and triple integrals).

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Skills training
  • Home preparation for classes - 64 hours per semester
  • Contact teaching - 26 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to master the work of linear algebra and analytical geometry, the basics of differential and integral calculus of functions of two and more variables and the solution of selected differential equations. It is a course that extends the teaching of Mathematics 2 by showing the solution of other examples in the seminar.
Students will be able to solve practical mathematical exercises in all lectured topics and apply mathematical methods in dealing with special problems in the follow-up courses.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Mathematics 1. Active participation in lectures in Mathematics 2.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Credit is awarded for obtaining at least 40 points out of a possible 100 points in any of the three credit-bearing written works, or obtaining at least 60 points in total from any combination of two credit-bearing written works.
