Pedagogy as a scientific discipline. The concept and objectives of education The role of upbringing and education The agent of education - the person The development of pedagogical principles. Forms of education Research, its forms and classification Organizational forms in the scientific communication A review of a professional publication. The basic concepts in mathematical statistics. Fundamentals of point valuation, hypothesis testing. Research analysis, histogram, spread analysis, linear regression, graphs. Organization, assignment, and planning of a bachelor's thesis. Types of bachelor's thesis and their general structure. Formal arrangement of a bachelor's thesis, language aspects, and style. Practical drill: work with text and graphic editors. Practical drill: presentation of a short communication and management of a discussion. Written professional communication. Preparation of a professional communication, poster.

The aim of the course is to gain knowledge from the field of upbringing and education of the person in such a way so that it provides a common view of pedagogy and scientific research that focuses on and is applicable to the specialty of the General Nurse and the Midwife. As part of the course, the students will prepare for their bachelor work.
The student will develop an idea about the fundamentals of education in today's societal context. The student will be able to understand the purpose of statistical reasoning and will master the basic techniques of statistical calculations using accessible statistical software. The student will start preparing his/her bachelor work.
