Course content
Subject matter and division of physics. Physical quantities, dimensions, units. Vectors. Kinematics and dynamics of the centre of the mass. Fundamental dynamic quantities. Dynamics of systems of centres of the mass and rigid bodies. Gravitational field and energy. Elasticity and solidness. Hooke´s law. Fluids, hydrostatics, and hydrodynamics. General, periodic, and harmonic oscillation. Undulation properties. Doppler effect. Heat, temperature, heat properties, heat transmission. Thermodynamics. Electrostatics and electrokinetics. Capacity. Electrical properties of substances. Magnetostatics and electromagnetics. Magnetic properties of substances. Development and propagation of electromagnetic waves. Principles of geometrical optics. Geometrical optics. Simple optic elements and instruments. Modern physics. Dualism. Photoelectric effect. RTG radiation. Quantum physics: principles and use. Concept of probability. Atom´s el. shell. Nuclear physics and energetic. Atom´s nucleus, nuclear reactions. Dosimetry.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with physical principles for diagnostic and therapeutic methods that they will encounter in practice.
The student will master issues in applied physics and biophysics according to the subject syllabus.

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at lectures. Credit for solving typical examples or written work.
