Course content
|
Origin and evolution of radiodiagnostics, the role of the radiology assistant. The basic components of skiagraphic X-ray equipment - the origin and quality of the X-ray image. Exposure parameters and their influence on the quality of the X-ray image and on the radiation dose. The baseline projection in X-ray imaging. Side markings. Negative and positive contrast agents, the risk of side effects and their prevention. X-ray imaging of the skull. X-ray imaging of the axial skeleton. X-ray imaging of the upper limbs. X-ray imaging of the lower limbs. X-ray imaging of the internal organs. X-ray imaging of the heart and blood vessels. Special characteristics of bedside X-ray examination. Special characteristics of X-ray examination in the operating theatre. Special characteristics of X-ray imaging in paediatric patients.

The aim is to acquire knowledge of the basic technological processes, physical and geometric principles and anatomy required for making a conventional radiogram.
