Course content
Introduction to radiological imaging methods, becoming acquainted with work in the department of radiology. Practical demonstration of the properties of X-rays during radiological imaging. Conventional radiological imaging devices: kinds and possibilities for use. Using primary and secondary screens. X-ray image quality, its geometry, resolution, and sensitivity. X-ray image processing, material defects, and errors during processing. Exposure factors, automatic exposure systems. Quality assurance programs, ČSN IEC 1223, radiation protection. Preparing the patient for a skiagraphic procedure - projection, defining the field, exposure factors. The conditions in relation to the indicative diagnosis, selected imaging technology, and state of health. Imaging procedures in the operating room and at patient bedside. X-ray investigative methods in osteology, pneumology, mammology, gynaecology, urology, and ENT. Tumour illnesses, radiation sickness, and acute conditions in internal medicine.

Learning outcomes
Practical training is a continuation and complementation of the subjects Conventional and digital imaging I. and II. It develops and deepens theoretical knowledge; students learn practical skills and habits that are needed for the examination of patients of all ages and with various health conditions.
Students learn to examine the patient, manage organizational aspects of their work, know their clinical responsibilities, can deal appropriately with patients, members of their family, and with other staff members of the health care institution.

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions. Completion of written exam.
