Methods of human cognition. Measurement in social research. Ethical aspects of the research. Quantitative, qualitative and integrative research. Data collection methods. Methods of data processing. The formation of hypotheses and research questions. Presentation of research results - the evaluation. Samples of researches and its analysis. Basic data collection techniques. Formation of own social research. Ongoing consultation on research projects. Presentation of research projects.

Learning outcomes

The course aims to acquaint students with the research methods and techniques that can be used within a social and sociological research.
The student knows the difference between qualitative and quantitative type of research, he/ she is familiar with the various research methods and can use the knowledge in the creation and implementation of research projects.
