Course content
Objectives and conceptions of health care policy. World Health Organization, its objectives, tasks and roles. General theory of a system, system of health care, health care as a system. Health care as a system. Health care systems in Europe and in the world. Current situation in the Czech Republic - state authorities, health insurance companies, health care providers, recipients of health care. Types and forms of health care in the Czech Republic. System of health care facilities in the Czech Republic Financing health care, payment methods. General health insurance, basic principles and rules.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to give students information about the essence of health care systems in selected countries of the European Union and throughout the world and to acquaint them with the current situation in the Czech Republic.
Students have the knowledge of the general nature of the system and understand the health care system. Students are able to evaluate and compare differences between various health care systems in the world. Students orientate themselves (on the basis of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis) in current situation of health care in the Czech Republic, including relevant legislation.

- Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at lectures - Successful completion of a written test (min. 60%)
