Course content
1. Installation of the server OS. 2. Native virtualization and paravirtualization. 3. Kernel-level virtualization. 4. Process isolation. 5. Users, groups and permissions. 6. File systems. 7. Network management, routing. 8. Multiple network systems management. 9. Sharing data over network, network file systems, DLNA. 10. "Cloud" storage, data synchronization. 11. Network traffic control. 12. Management of services, drivers, API. 13. Embedded operating systems.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Methods of individual activities, Demonstration, Skills training, Laboratory work, Work-related activities
Learning outcomes
Broaden and deepen practical knowledge in managing operating systems, particularly Unix type, focused on configuring and managing Linux.
Ability to install and manage UNIX-like OS, ability to quickly find needed information for Linux management. Deeper overview of UNIX and Linux possibilities.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of operating systems and networks. Basic administration of computer networks and any operating system is welcome.

Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Oral performance analysis, Work-related product analysis

Practical tasks (OS management), theoretical test (written and oral).
