Course content
Historical approaches to macroeconomics. Aims and instruments of macroeconomics. Aggregate supply and demand. Quantification of national economy efficiency. Analysis of consumption, savings and investments. Theory of product determination. Money and banking. Inflation. Unemployment. Economic growth and business cycle. Monetary policy. Fiscal policy, deficits and national debt. International trade and exchange. Exchange rates and international monetary system. Demand, supply, price. Consumer's behaviour in the market of goods and services. Company in perfect competition. Company in the conditions of imperfect competition. Market of general production factors. Labour market. Capital market. Market failure. Distribution of incomes. Stock Market.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with basic necessary knowledge. Students will understand macroeconomic aims and instruments of the stabilization of economic policy and essentials of microeconomic theory; ie. one branch of economics and teach them to understand the behaviour of individuals (households) and companies in the conditions of perfect and imperfect competition. Students will understand economic principles of the production and consumption.
Student will gain the essential compendium of macroeconomical values in the frame of state´s economy and microeconomical concepts within business.
Prerequisites
Student should have a good knowledge of essential mathematical operations and graph usage on the level of secondary school graduate.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

The course is mandatory and completion of the test. Lectures and seminars are held in groups according to schedule and are mandatory for students. Credit student gains on the basis of: 1 / compliance with the required limit participation in exercise (80%) 2 / successful economic news presentation (Power Point) The test has only written form - test questions. The test is considered to be mastered, if the percentage of success min. at 60%.
