Course content
Non-medical health professions, performance of the profession, education, related legislation. Mentoring in healthcare, definition, terminology, substance, professional training, and mentor's employment. Related legislation. Student/mentee personality, mentor personality, behavioural motivation, values, attitudes, biases, power, personal goals, visions, resources, strengths. Social roles mentor/mentee, team roles, relationship building, partnership, cooperation in a team, in a group. Communication in mentoring (making agreements, requests, pleas, appreciation, constructive criticism, evaluation, rejection, conflicts, non-violent communication, principles of transactional analysis, professional and lay language) in a healthcare organization.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to explain to students the principle of mentoring in healthcare, the role of a mentor in the learning process of students and in the adaptation process of new employees, in the context of current legislation and conditions for the performance of the profession and education.
Students are familiar with the principles of mentoring in healthcare, with the role of the mentor and the current legislation related to this issue..
