Course content
Principles of data processing. Integration and repetition of basic user skills. Work with the operating system. Work using a text editor: practice. Work using a spreadsheet: practice. Table and graph creation basics. Creating presentations. Searching the Internet, using electronic libraries and databases, Medline: practice. Using anti-virus software, practical safety applications, e-mail. The use of health systems I.: practice.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is the unification, re-enactment and development of knowledge about computers, computer software and information systems with a focus on the needs of the health sector. Students should acquire knowledge and practical skills of work with information technologies aimed at text processing, spreadsheets, - foundations of statistical analysis and on-line search for information.
Student controls the Windows operating system in the basic range, office software MS Office, student handles email communications, including its security, he/ she can do basic work in a medical information system. Student is also able to search information from medical professional portals, electronic libraries and databases.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at seminars. Passing the written test/written tests in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
