Course content
NPB, division, diagnosis, therapy. Current trends in surgery. Diseases of the esophagus, stomach and small intestine. Colon and rectal disease. Diseases of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas. Breast disease, complex treatment of tumors.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with issues in the field of special surgery. The student knows and applies the specifics of the nursing process for patients after surgical procedures.
The student will know the basics endocrine surgery, thoracic surgery, abdominal surgery, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, traumatology, pediatric surgery and plastic surgery. Furthermore, he will be able to plan, lead, evaluate the nursing process for patients after surgical procedures, he will be able to justify and defend his procedures.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test

Completion of a written test. Mandatory 80% participation in exercises and active work in groups. Completion of the oral exam.
