Course content
Introduction, overview of the basic anatomic knowledge, bandages, and surgeries in orthopaedics. Degenerative joint disease. Degenerative spine disease. Paediatric orthopaedics. Inflammatory connective tissue diseases, musculoskeletal tumours. Injuries to soft tissues and joints. Bone injuries. Septic orthopaedics, amputation.

Learning outcomes
The objective of the subject is to acquaint students with most frequent diseases and injuries of musculoskeletal system, their clinical manifestation, risks and therapy options related to specific problems in their treatment. A specific attention will be paid to degenerative diseases and joint replacements, congenital and acquired defects, arthral injuries, and keyhole surgery, injuries of long bones and tissues, and septic orthopaedics.
The student knows the clinical manifestations, risks, and treatment options of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, in connection with specific issues arising during their management.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures, practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test or an oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.
