Course content
|
Total anesthesia. Regional anesthesia and analgesia. Outpatient anesthesia and the methods of relieving pain. Securing the airways and monitoring of clients during the anesthesia. The preparation of clients prior to anesthesia - anesthetic risk, devices for administering anesthesia. Pharmacology of anesthetics and analgesics.Complications of anesthesia. New procedures in CPR, including aids and devices. Care of patients after CPR. Airway support in the intensive care, non-invasive and invasive ventilation, non-conventional ventilation. Shock from the anaesthetist's point of view. Multiorgan failure - prevention, diagnosis, therapy and monitoring of patients who are in intensive care after being in critical state. Job description (role) of the anesthetic nurses. The role of nurses in the recovering room, tasks of a nurse in outpatient anesthesia. Documentation and reporting in anesthesiology. Preparation and assistance with general anesthesia. Nursing care specific of a patient in anesthesia. Post-operative analgesia, monitoring, the pain treatment protocol. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, infusion therapy, volumo and hemosubstitution. Anaesthesia machine, operation and maintenance. Admission of a critically ill patient - procedure for securing him/her. Care of invasive insertions in the emergency ward and elimination methods. Resuscitation beds, ventilators, airways care.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to deepen the theoretical and practical knowledge of students in the field of the care of patients in the emergency ward with the emphasis on the issue of resuscitation and the care of critically ill. The aim of the course is also to deepen students' knowledge and skills in the field of anaesthesia and analgesia in the context of perioperative care.
Students know the principles of admission of critically ill patients, the organization of nursing care in the emergency ward, the principles of securing the airways, the principles of monitoring and ventilation of critically ill patients. Students are familiar with the issues of legal responsibility in the emergency ward. Students perform specialized nursing care of critically ill patients. Students are familiar with anaesthesia and analgesia in perioperative care.
