Course content
Inflammatory lung diseases. Tuberculosis and mycobacteriosis of the lung. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, diet therapy, complications, prevention. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Respiratory insufficiency. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, complications, prevention. Bronchial asthma. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, complications, prevention. Primary and secondary immunodeficiency, autoimmune diseases, etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, diet therapy, complications, prevention. Organ-non-specific and specific autoimmune diseases, patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, organ-specific and non-specific autoimmune diseases and allergies: allergic diseases. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, diet therapy, complications, prevention. Primary and secondary lymphedema, etiology and diagnosis of lymphoedema, treatment. Manual and instrumental lymphatic drainage, indications and contraindications, compression therapy, surgical treatment. Specifics of treatment of lymphedema in children and geriatric patients. Diseases of the oesophagus and stomach. Classification. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, diet therapy, complications, prevention. Diseases of the large and small intestine. Idiopathic intestinal inflammation. Classification. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, diet therapy, complications, prevention. Functional disorders of the digestive tract, classification. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, diet therapy, complications, prevention. Diseases of the biliary system, liver and pancreas. Classification. Etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment options, diet therapy, complications, prevention. Specialized nursing care of patients with respiratory diseases: physical examination by a nurse, education in regimen measures and implementation possibilities, counselling. Assisted pulmonary ventilation. Oxygen therapy - occupational safety. Pulse oximeter, pocket inhalers, respiratory rehabilitation. Specialized nursing care of patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune diseases and allergies: physical examination by a nurse, assessment of patient's needs, education in regimen measures and implementation possibilities, counselling. Specialized nursing care of patients with primary and secondary lymphedema: physical examination by a nurse, assessment of patient's needs, compression therapy, exercise, skin care, education in regimen measures and implementation possibilities, counselling. Specialized nursing care of patients with gastroenterological disease: physical examination by a nurse, assessment of patient's needs, identification of nursing problems, PEG and its treatment, prevention of sunken disc syndrome, work of a nurse in IBD, clinical counselling, hepatic counselling, biological treatment, plan of nursing interventions, education in regimen measures and implementation possibilities, counselling.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the specifics of treatment and nursing care of patients with selected internal diseases of the respiratory and digestive tracts, allergies, immunodeficiency states, and rheumatological diseases.
Students know the diagnostics, treatment, and principles of nursing care of patients with selected internal diseases, and are able to plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing process with regard to their specifics. They are ready for educational and consulting activities in this area.
