Course content
Introduction, overview of the basic anatomic knowledge, bandages, and surgeries in orthopaedics. Degenerative joint disease. Degenerative spine disease. Paediatric orthopaedics. Inflammatory connective tissue diseases, musculoskeletal tumours. Injuries to soft tissues and joints. Bone injuries. Septic orthopaedics, amputation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the most common diseases and injuries of the locomotor apparatus, Their clinical features, risks, and treatment options with links to specific problems in their care. Special attention will be paid to degenerative diseases and artificial joint replacement, congenital and acquired defects, intra-articular injuries and endoscopic interventions, injuries of the long bones and soft tissues, and to septic orthopaedics.
The student knows the clinical manifestations, risks, and treatment options of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, in connection with specific issues arising during their management. The student will become familiar with the rehabilitation of patients with a physical, mental, or sensory handicap, with the aim to maintain or regain lost skills or to compensate for functions that have been lost permanently.

Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Completing assigned written work. Successful completion of a written test or an oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.
