Introduction, history of general psychiatry discipline Organic mental disorders. Endogenous mental disorders. Therapy in psychiatry. Alcoholism and other drug addiction. Child and adolescent psychiatry. Eating disorders. Gerontopsychiatry. Community care. Specifics of customer care in the department of psychiatry. Psychosocial treatments in psychiatry, legal issues. Specifics of health and social care for clients with depression. Specifics of health and social care for clients with schizophrenia.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with prevention, treatment and health and social problems of psychiatric patients, including the care specifics of these patients.
Students can evaluate clinical conditions in psychiatry, he/ she knows diagnostic procedures and tests, the standard treatment. He/ she can plan, implement and evaluate individual health and social care for psychiatric patients.
