Course content
Type 1 diabetes mellitus. Insulin treatment. Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Complications of diabetes. Diseases of the digestive tract. Diseases of the pancreas and of the liver. Bleeding into the GI tract. Differentially Diagnostic Seminar I. Differentially Diagnostic Seminar II. Addressed case reports by students I. Addressed student case reports II

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to gain knowledge of internal medicine, focused in pre-hospital diagnostics, treatment, and also on the differential diagnosis of emergencies in internal medicine.
The student knows the fundamentals of symptomatology, diagnostics, treatment, and principles of nursing care in the care of patients with selected cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and metabolic diseases. As for practical skills, the student is able to use the procedures described in the syllabus of practical exercises.
