Course content
|
Rehabilitation as a medical field and as a basic component of the societal health and social system. Introduction to rehabilitation - the definition of the field, the essence, goal, and methodical principles. Rehabilitation nursing - the essence. Positioning - basic types, prevention of pressure ulcers, fitness exercises. Disorders of the correct posture, functional disorders of the locomotor system. Breathing, breathing gymnastics. Caring for elimination, drinking regime. Energy use in therapeutic rehabilitation. Valid legal regulations in the field of rehabilitation in the CR. ICF and its practical application in rehabilitation. The procedures for determining the individual's functional and work potential. IWS. Collaboration with the Employment Office. Cognitive rehabilitation - the concept, fundamental procedures for diagnosis and treatment of cognitive functions. Ergo-diagnostics and occupational therapy in the therapeutic domain of rehabilitation. Social and pre-work rehabilitation in bed (contact with family, option). The issue of lay volunteer workers in the departments. Patient positioning and breathing gymnastics, conditioning exercises, training of basic movement functions. Training in everyday activities and self-service, selection of aids. Model activities and possibilities of examination in occupational therapy.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course focused on orthopedics is to acquaint students with the most common diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, their clinical manifestations, risks and possibilities of their therapy in connection with specific problems in their treatment. and soft tissues, and in septic orthopedics. The aim of the course focused on rehabilitation nursing is to acquaint students with the possibilities of rehabilitation medicine and use some important elements in the form of rehabilitation nursing in the daily care of the patient. Specifically, it goes on minimizing the risks of possible complications in immobile patients, shortening the treatment time and thus reducing treatment costs.
The student knows the specifics of nursing care, especially for degenerative diseases with artificial joint replacements, congenital and acquired defects, intra-articular injuries and endoscopic procedures, long bone injuries and soft tissues, and in septic orthopedics. The student knows the rehabilitation of physically, mentally or sensory impaired patients in order to maintain or regain lost skills, or to compensate for permanently lost functions.

Oral examination
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions. Successful completion of a written test or of an oral examination.
