Course content
|
Anaesthesia equipment, aids, devices, and anaesthesia systems. Anaesthesia drugs, medicinal gases, and the methods of their application. General anaesthesia. Local anaesthesia. Complications of anaesthesia and their resolution. Special anaesthesia I. - obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, geriatrics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, stomatology, and ENT. Special anaesthesia II. - thoracic surgery, abdominal surgery, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and urology. Outpatient anaesthesia, anaesthesia in pre-hospital urgent care. Treatment of pain.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge in the area of anaesthesiology, intensive care, and resuscitation.
The student knows and practically applies the knowledge concerning general and local anaesthesia in anaesthesiology, a comprehensive examination of the patient prior to a procedure, the selection of the anaesthesia procedure, and the fundamentals of pain treatment.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test. Successful completion of an oral examination.
