Course content
Anaesthesia equipment, aids, devices, and anaesthesia systems. Anaesthesia drugs, medicinal gases, and the methods of their application. General anaesthesia. Local anaesthesia. Complications of anaesthesia and their resolution. Special anaesthesia I. - obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, geriatrics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, stomatology, and ENT. Special anaesthesia II. - thoracic surgery, abdominal surgery, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and urology. Outpatient anaesthesia, anaesthesia in pre-hospital urgent care. Treatment of pain. Introduction to general anaesthesia, providing access to the vascular system, assisting with intubation, dilution of anaesthetics, preparation of the room and anaesthetic equipment. Assisting with regional blockade, epidural and subarachnoid anaesthesia. Appropriate peripheral nerve block, assistance. Basic elements and history of the concept of Basal Stimulation, initial touch, autobiographical history. Somatic stimulation, respiratory stimulation, mummy position, nest position, micropositioning. Vibratory, optical, oral, auditory and tactile-haptic stimulation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge in the area of anaesthesiology.
The student knows and practically applies the knowledge concerning general and local anaesthesia in anaesthesiology, a comprehensive examination of the patient prior to a procedure, the selection of the anaesthesia procedure, and the fundamentals of pain treatment.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Didactic test

Completion of the assigned written work (3/ZS). Fulfillment of the mandatory 80% participation in lectures. Compliance with the mandatory 100% active participation in practical exercises (3/ZS, 3/LS). Completion of the oral examination (3/LS).
