Course content
Bronchial asthma and COPD. Pneumonia. General principles of treatment of intoxications. Diseases of the hematopoietic system. Acute conditions in endocrinology. Case studies addressed by students I. Case studies addressed by students II. Review - cardiology and pulmonology. Review - gastroenterology, diabetes, endocrinopathy, kidney diseases, and disorders of blood formation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical knowledge of internal medicine and to be able to apply this knowledge practically in basic pre-hospital care, to master pre-hospital diagnosis and treatment of basic acute conditions, to master basic differential diagnosis of sudden conditions in internal medicine.
The student knows the fundamentals of symptomatology, diagnostics, treatment, and principles of nursing care of patients with selected cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and metabolic diseases.
