Course content
Introduction to the issue of crisis management. Basic terminology. Typology of emergencies. The public administration system and the crisis management system. The Czech Republic health care crisis preparedness and protection of the public. Typical activities of the integrated rescue system. The emergency and crisis planning system and the principles of traumatological planning. Emergency logistics. Personal protective equipment. Analysis and breakdown of selected emergencies. Model solution of emergencies. Analysis and breakdown of traumatological plans of health care institutions. Assignment seminar.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide students with basic knowledge of the crisis management field.
Students are well versed in the public administration system and the crisis management system. They know the basic terminology pertaining to the crisis management field and know the Czech Republic health care crisis preparedness. They are well versed in the protection of the population, know the legal aspects of crisis management, are familiar with the emergency and crisis planning, know the system and principles of traumatological planning, know the principles of coordination of rescue and relief work during a joint intervention of the integrated rescue system bodies, and know the tasks and organization of activities of the health care services during rescue and relief work at the site of an emergency according to current knowledge of disaster medicine. They are able to conduct and organize an intervention by the health care services during an emergency, are able to evaluate the emergency mainly in terms of the specific risks and requirements for the strength and resources inherent in the health care services, and are able to adapt the tactics of the intervention depending on the type of the emergency and the current conditions. They engage in health care documentation concerning the emergency and indicate the use of personal protective equipment and other material resources.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 60% active attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 85% active attendance at the practicum sessions. Completion of assigned written work. Completion of an oral examination.
