Course content
|
Anatomy and physiology of the urogenital system. Symptomatology of kidney diseases and of diseases affecting the urinary pathways. Examination methods in urology and nephrology. Imaging methods in urology and nephrology. Instrumental and endoscopic methods in urology. Congenital anomalies of the genitals. Specific and non-specific kidney infections and infections of the urinary pathways. Traumatology in urology. Urodynamic examination.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with illnesses of the urinary system, male sexual organs, and the retroperitoneum. At the kidney level, this discipline partially permeates nephrology, and it shares sexual organ issues with gynaecology and sexology.
The student knows the anatomy and physiology of the urogenital system, examination methods as well as treatment of patients with urological problems. The student applies highly specialized theoretical and practical knowledge to the nursing process in the care of patients with problems of the urogenital system.

Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 70% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Completing assigned written work. Successful completion of a written test.
