Course content

Chronic complications of DM. Treatment of DM. Gout. Hyperlipoproteinemia. Diseases of the hypothalamo - hypophyseal system. Diseases of the thyroid gland. Diseases of the parathyroid glands. Diseases of the adrenal cortex.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to gain basic knowledge in the subspecialty of endocrinology, to become acquainted with fundamentals of symptomatology, diagnostics, treatment, and nursing issues in the care of patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
The student acquires basic knowledge of principles of care in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. He/she understands the tasks and significance of nursing care in the care of patients with these diseases. He/she is able to practically apply gained knowledge. He/she is able to assess individual needs, to plan, to implement, and to evaluate nursing care in the area of gastroenterology, endocrinology, and hepatology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars.
