Course content
Coniotomy, tracheostomy, and puncture-dilatation tracheostomy. Clinical and nursing issues. Nursing care of the patient before and after performing a tracheostomy. Psychosocial aspects of patients with a tracheal cannula. Classical and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy. Clinical and nursing issues. Colostomy. Clinical and nursing issues. The issue of outflow of the urinary pathways. Nursing care of the patient before and after performing a gastrostomy. Psychosocial aspects of patients with a gastrostomy. Nursing care of the patient before and after performing a colostomy. Psychosocial aspects of patients with a colostomy.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the newly shaping subject from the area of surgical disciplines is to highlight the differences as well as the common features of selected procedures - stomas, which help to reduce mortality and morbidity in selected, mainly oncological, patients. Issues pertinent to this subject are reflected in many disciplines, where they increase patients' comfort.
After completing the subject, the student must primarily have a good grasp of the requirements placed on the nursing care.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 60% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test. Successful completion of a written test or an oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.
