Course content
Acute inflammation of the auditory canal and the middle ear and related complications. Acute inflammation of the pharynx and related complications. Acute inflammation of the nose and the paranasal sinuses and related complications. Acute inflammation of the larynx. Intracranial complications and complications in soft tissues of the neck and the mediastinum due to ENT causes. Otorhinolaryngological injuries. Headaches due to otorhinolaryngological causes.

Learning outcomes
The subject aims to acquaint students with selected acute illnesses and conditions in otorhinolaryngology, with an emphasis on their diagnostics, differential diagnostics, first aid, and professional nursing and medical care.
Students will learn the subject matter to the extent of the syllabus of the lectures and seminars with an emphasis on theoretical knowledge of performing cricothyrotomy and tracheotomy.
