Course content
Assessment of the current state of abilities and skills of a child or adult and their needs. Processing of the response documentation in selected acute conditions. Work organization and management in urgent admission and in emergency medical service . Nursing care in an intensive care unit in department of internal medicine, in surgery, and in pediatric department. Nursing care in emergency department and in operating theatres. Nursing care in urgent admission. Nursing care in conditions of emergency medical services. Nursing care in obstetrics and gynaecology. Specifics of work in medical operations center, cooperation with fire and rescue services. Analysis of the ECG waveform. Model activation of the components of the IRS. Suctioning the lower airways using an open or closed system. Tracheobronchial lavage of the patient/client with ETI or TS. Gastric lavage in the conscious patient. Performing coniotomy on a cadaver. Course - mountain rescue (knowledge of basic knots and binding to promote safety, maintain one's bearings in the terrain, practical training: rescuing disabled people in inaccessible terrain, rescue of people from heights, the issue of the Mountain Rescue Service).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to gain practical skills in a network of institutions and workplaces representing emergency medical services within an integrated rescue service network and in other areas that engage in health and life rescue.
Students use analysis, evaluation, and synthesis in problem-solving of issues while caring for ill patients/clients who experience failure of basic vital functions or who are at risk of such failure. They are involved in improving the quality of nursing care, are able to execute basic techniques of physical assessment of patients, independently prepare and implement education of clients, and are able to plan the nursing process in the care of patients with failure of basic vital functions while respecting their cultural differences. They participate in cooperation within the healthcare team, collaborate with the family of the patient/client, and respect and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

It is compulsory to complete 100% attendance in the internship. It is compulsory to complete the determined procedures and nursing processes. Completing practical assignment.
