Course content
Communication and assertiveness. Communication and self-management. Building and leading a team. Leadership, its principles and content. Definition of managerial communication in the context of internal communication. Managerial communication competences. Personal plan for developing one's own communication. The importance of communication in building trust, consistency of verbal and non-verbal communication. Self-reflection. Communication changes. Conflict management. Manager's communication plan and effective management of meetings.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to learn about the nature and meaning of leadership, its differences from other types of leadership, its functions, elements, and processes in an organizational context. The course includes self-awareness and reflection to enhance one's own positive and proactive approach and to prevent burnout syndrome when overcoming obstacles in leading others.
Students know the basic principles and techniques for implementing leadership in the context of managerial communication as a major tool for leading teams and individuals and building a stimulating social climate. In accordance with Government Regulation No. 275/2016 Coll. on Areas of Education in Higher Education, due to the number of credits for the completion of the course, the course is included in the areas of education Part 5 - Economic disciplines (60 %; 3 credits) and Part 36 - Health disciplines (40 %; 2 credits).

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation

Compulsory attendance at lectures and seminars. Fulfilment of tasks assigned at the seminars. Passing a written test or oral examination as decided by the course guarantor.
