Telemedicine, computerization of health and healthcare, historical development. Goals of health informatics, sources, and forms of information storage. The e-Health legislative environment. Information and Expert Systems in Healthcare. National Health Information System. Healthcare data standards. Applied telemedicine in clinical subspecialities. Data processing automation and cybersecurity. Sources of information, research, and code of ethics. Data, information, storage, and exchange infrastructure. Legal responsibilities and conditions for the provision of e-Health services. IT technologies for telemedicine support. Telemedicine diagnostics and therapy. Technology trends, applications, and threats.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive set of knowledge and basic concepts in the field of computerization of healthcare (e-Health), to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the successful use of information and communication systems. It also provides an introduction to the conditions of transmission and storage of electronic health information and the introduction of new technologies in health care providers leading to an improvement in the quality of health care.
Students apply new technologies, information and communication systems and use them to improve the quality of health care.
