Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to follow the basic developmental trends in 20th-century poetry and prose. We will focus on changes in poetics and aesthetic norms in the broader context of society and culture in general. The starting point will be the interpretation of selected texts and works from a narratological or poetological perspective and the observation of their reception.
Graduates of this course should be able to independently reflect on the most important developments and stages in 20th-century Czech literature. This ability will be based on lectures, discussions, independent study, and, of course, their own reading experiences gained throughout the course.
