Learning outcomes
The lectures present the structures and functions of historical reasoning and the ways of creating historical myths and stereotypes through the analysis of recent and period interpretations of selected Czech historical events and social /cultural phenomena from the end of "first" Czechoslovak republic to the fall of the Communist regime.
The students will be able to orientate themselves in the various levels of historical culture, especially in the categories of "historical consciousness" and "historical awareness", and they will be able to distinguish between the scientific and journalistic approaches towards history and their positions in current culture and society.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment, Self project defence

Active participation in the seminar, preparation and presenting of the report on the topic consulted with the teacher. In case of e-learning the report will be replaced by an essay.
