Course content
|
Introduction, objectives and stages of experimental exploration. Variations and errors in measured values, ways to eliminate them. Basic statistical methods. Measurement evaluation. Characteristics of the set of measured values, confidence intervals. Determination of appropriate measurement range and number of experiments, DOE (design of experiments). Evaluation of relationships between monitored quantities (correlation, regression), determination of parameters in regression functions. Theory of similarity and dimensional analysis. Simulation Probability Method (Monte Carlo, LHS - Latin Hypercube Sampling). Experimental finding of extremes. Sensitivity analysis.

Learning outcomes
|
To get acquainted with the main steps and methods of experimental analysis - how to organize experiments and evaluate them.
A graduate of the course is able to prepare, implement and correctly evaluate a technical experiment in the field of means of transport and transport infrastructure.

Prerequisites
|
The knowledge of mathematics from the first two university semesters.

Written examination
