Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide complex information about technical materials for transport means. The content is focused on the fundamental relationships between the microstructure and the properties of materials, incl. the widely used methods of testing mechanical properties and quality of materials. Thermal and mechanical processes are introduced with a connection to the operational behaviour of materials.
Knowledge of the internal structure of materials, types of phase transformations, mechanical parameters and their testing.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the physical properties of materials

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Basic knowledge of metal physics.
