Learning outcomes
|
In the terms of the laboratory exercises, the student will use the advanced techniques of chemical synthesis with the main focus to the preparation and characterization of compounds in the pure state, compounds sensitive to the moisture and air gasses. Both theoretically and practically the experimental techniques will be explained, mainly the techniques of cannulas and septa, the vacuum technique, as well as the Schlenk technique will be gained by students. Also the drying of solvents and the low temperature techniques will be shown. The student will gain the know-how from the literature information, synthesis, identification and checking the purity. The aim of the course is to prepare the students for their own independent laboratory work mainly under the inert atmosphere.
The student will obtain the knowledge how to synthesize organometallic and inorganic compounds sensitive to moisture and oxygen, to characterize them and to perform the future research and use.
