Course content
Materials classification. Metallic bond, Crystal structure and microstructure of metals. Mechanical and physical properties of metals. Technology of metals production. Pyrometallurgy. Hydrometallurgy. Low melting metals and alloys. Refractory metals. Noble metals. Phase diagram Fe-Fe3C. Production of iron and steel. Powder metallurgy. Corrosion and nits prevention.

Learning outcomes
Students get information on relations among bonding, structure and properties of metallic materials and their production and applications.
Students get knowledge on the structure and properties of various metallica materials and their applications.

Written examination

Examination is written, 2 tests within the semester. Students prepares for the examination also report of 5 pages on the given topics.
