Lectures and seminars Nursing unit, specifics of nursing units - ICU, ED, children's department, psychiatric department, etc. Protective treatment regimen. Charter of the Rights of Hospitalized Children. Patients' rights and obligations. Bed care - types of beds for children and adults, positions of patients. Hygienic care of children and adults. Decubitus, intertrigo. Bandage material, dressing. Care of aids, preparation for surgery procedures, redressing, instruments, drains and drainage. Care of basic biological needs of children and adults, physiological functions - children and adults' specifics. Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to get students acquainted with the basic terminology and topics of nursing procedures and to prepare them for activities that are part of the work of non-medical healthcare staff in health and social institutions, and in home environment.
Students know the principles of nursing procedures, accept methodological recommendations related to the issue, and work according to the latest knowledge of science. They are able to plan, lead, and evaluate nursing processes and to prevent unwanted situations arising from the implementation of nursing care within the multidisciplinary team.

|
Student performance assessment, Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions. Completion of a written test or oral examination according to the decision of the subject guarantor.
