Course content
|
Basic elements of the Basic Stimulation concept and its history. Somatic stimulation. Global calming and refreshing bath, Bobath's bath. Developmental bath.Global diametral bath. Massage to stimulate breathing, contact breathing. Positioning. Mummy position, nest position, micropositioning. Vibration stimulation. Vibration stimulation to support breathing. Seminar acquainting students with extended elements of the Basal Stimulation concept. Optical stimulation. Auditory and olfactory stimulation. Tactile-haptic stimulation. Oral stimulation. Hygiene of the oral cavity. Stimulation of the gustatory cells. The patient's nutrition.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the Basal Stimulation concept, its history, contemporary situation in the Czech Republic, and with basic and extended elements of the concept. To teach students how to use basic techniques of individual elements of the Basal Stimulation concept. The student knows basic and extended elements of the Basal Stimulation concept.
He/she is able to use individual elements of the concept. He/she knows indications for using individual elements of the concept and selects procedures suitable for the patient.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance assessment, Didactic test
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test.
