Primary care system - organizational forms, financing, legal aspects. Prevention, dispensation. Provision of health services by a general practitioner for children, adolescents, and adults. Follow-up to health and social service providers. Provision of health services by a general practitioner for children, adolescents, and adults. Visiting service - course, purpose. Community development in the EU - territorial administrative units - theory of community development. Community, community care, community services and institutions. Follow-up of institutional care to community care. The role of a nurse in promoting and strengthening the health of the population. The system of care for the elderly and chronically ill. The system of care for women and mothers. The system of care for children and adolescents. The family care system. The system of care for the mentally ill, psychiatric care reform. The system of care for addicted patients, social prevention services and social counselling programmes. The system of health and social services in the community (in a district, in a city, in a county, in a state). Issues of community care for culturally specific groups. Nursing process with a community focus.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide deepening theoretical information about primary and community care, to prepare students for specific situations based on the characteristics of the most common communities.
The student understands the primary care system in the Czech Republic, knows the meaning of the term "community", its main social function in meeting the needs of people and its hierarchy: individual-family-district-city-district-state-nation-world. It recognizes the need for a healthy social and natural environment in the community for the life of individuals and their families.
