The importance of the terminology, pronunciation, accent. The first declension, Latin and Greek nouns, prepositions. The second declension, Latin and Greek masculines and neuters. Latin adjectives in the first and second declension. The third declension, nouns. Adjectives in the third declension. The fourth declension. The fifth declension, overview of inflection in all the declensions. Comparison of adjectives. Irregular comparison of adjectives. Comprehensive guidance concerning Latin verbs. Latin basic and ordinal numerals. Inference using prefixes and suffixes, composition.

Learning outcomes
|
The course acquaints students with the fundamentals of Latin, Greek-Latin, and Greek terminology.
Students are orientated in relevant terminology, are able to understand and interpret diagnostic data, and are also able to use terms creatively in work situations.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Oral performance analysis, Didactic test, Discussion
Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions, demonstration of basic knowledge by writing three announced tests. Successful completion of an oral examination.
