Course content
|
Using health education methods, with a focus on factors influencing the health of individuals and their environment, on health preservation principles, and on application abilities in everyday life of individuals, families, groups, and the society. Practice: nursing activities while implementing the nursing process in natural conditions. Using nursing procedures and principles in the care of sick adults, children, and the handicapped. Individual nursing care of selected groups of patients using the nursing process.

The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the nature and organization of work in different types of nursing units and enable students to gain experience from real practice, which is important for professional development and understanding of differences in meeting the needs of health, sick, handicapped, and dying clients/patients.
The student masters nursing procedures and actions according to standards. The student seeks out and meets the needs of clients based on an active and individualized nursing care implemented according to the nursing process, participates in interdisciplinary team collaboration, respects and abides by valid laws and regulations.
