Course content
The basic elements and history of the concept of Basal stimulation. Initial touch - experiential seminar. Autobiographical history. Somatic stimulation. Total soothing and refreshing bath, bath according to Bobath. Stimulation of breathing - massage stimulating breathing, contact breathing. Developing bath. Total diametric bath. Positioning. The mummy position. The nest position. Micro-positioning. Vibratory stimulation. Vibratory stimulation supporting breathing. Elements that build up on the concept - optical stimulation. Oral stimulation. Hygiene of the oral cavity. Stimulation of the taste cells. The patient's eating. Auditory and olfactory stimulation and tactile and haptic stimulation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the Basal Stimulation concept, its history, contemporary situation in the Czech Republic, and with basic and extended elements of the concept. To teach students how to use basic techniques of individual elements of the Basal Stimulation concept. The student knows basic and extended elements of the Basal Stimulation concept.

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test. Successful completion of a practical examination.
