Course content
Fundamentals in Legal theory, origin and function of law, sources of law, precepts, legal relations. Fundamentals of Constitutional law, form of state, state organs, fundamental human rights. Fundamentals of Administrative law, regulatory proceedings. Fundamentals of Civil law, legal acts, rights in rem, contract law. Fundamentals of Labour law, employment, liability for damage, agreements on work conducted outside employment relationship, work accidents. Specifics of legal liability in health care, lex artis, liability for subordinates, confidentiality of health care workers. Legal Protection of health care workers. Fundamentals of Family law, marriage, relations between parents and children, alimony. Legal standards for health care workers and related activities.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is formation of character, intellectual, and professional traits of health care worker. The syllabus focuses on philosophical, ethical, and legal aspects of exercising a non-medical profession.
Students will be able to explain fundamental philosophical and ethical terms; will be acquainted with legislation in the field of criminal, civic and administration code in relation to health care. Students will be capable to orientate themselves in philosophical problems, ethical approaches, and health care legislation essential for their profession.

Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum, sessions and seminars.
