Course content

Introduction into Philosophy, Ethics, and Law. Ethical balance sheet and key ethical theories. Ethical issues of the beginning of human life. Ethical issues of the end of human life. Human rights, rights and responsibilities of patients and of health care workers. Codes of ethics. Ethical issues in research involving human subjects. Assigning a seminar work. Ethical issued in selected clinical disciplines - case studies. Analysis of the seminar work.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to form character, intellectual, and professional qualities of the personality of the health care worker.
Students will be able to explain the basic philosophical concepts and will become familiar with legal regulation in criminal, civil, and administrative law in relation to health care. They will be well versed in philosophical issues and legal regulations in health care that are necessary for their practice.
